NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - As part of a series of moves to get under the NFL’s salary cap, the Saints are expected to restructure the contract of franchise quarterback Derek Carr, according to ESPN.
ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler said that the move is expected to save the Saints around $23 million in cap relief.
Carr is due $30 million in base salary and converting a portion of that into a signing bonus can provide savings, Fowler said.
